The Arts Society provides children and young people with exciting opportunities to get involved in creative arts activities. Our work with young people builds a lasting enthusiasm for the arts and an awareness of arts heritage and its conservation.
Young Arts opportunities are organised by individual Societies. Some Societies have on-going Young Arts Groups while others fund one-off Young Arts Projects.
Art@thestation is a programme that gives young artists an opportunity to show their work and their talent to a wide range of the general public by exhibiting their art works in railway booking offices, waiting rooms, on the platforms and at other spaces within the stations.
It is a combined project of The Arts Society nationally and individual Arts Societies locally, sponsoring young artists with the Rail Community Group who provide the spaces for exhibition. Arts Societies across Surrey have thus far sponsored art in 16 stations, so next time you take the train, look out for young artists work at:
Chipstead, Dorking, Epsom, Ewell East, Ewell West, Farnham, Guildford, Horsley, Leatherhead, Lingfield, Redhill, Reigate, Tattenham Corner, Walton-on-the Hill, and Upper Warlingham.
